The focus of Nick’s law practice is on civil litigation with an emphasis on representing injured victims in negligence and intentional tort cases as well as representing individuals and businesses of all sizes in business and employment related litigation, real estate and construction litigation, and franchise litigation. Nick has successfully tried a number of such matters in the State and Federal Courts of Georgia. Nick also handles basic corporate matters such as formations of new business entities and stock and asset purchases and sales.
Nick is originally from Mississippi and received his B.A. from the University of Mississippi in Oxford in 1989. He attended the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens receiving his J.D. in 1992.
After graduating from UGA, Nick began practicing law in Atlanta, Georgia spending one year in private practice and three as corporate counsel for Franchise Strategies, Inc. handling primarily franchising and employment issues for the company and its affiliates. In 1996, Nick joined the law firm of Dreger & McClelland in Roswell, Georgia. Nick was with that firm for twelve years during which he became a name partner and the firm grew to become the law firm of Dreger, Coyle, Bergman, Pieschel & Reemsnyder, LLC which had offices in Alpharetta, Duluth, Cumming and Dawsonville, Georgia. In 2008, Nick founded Moorman Pieschel, LLC with his longtime friend and colleague, Christopher G. Moorman.
Nick has achieved a substantial amount of professional success and notoriety during his legal career. He is “AV” rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been recognized as a Georgia “Super Lawyer” in Law & Politics and Atlanta Magazine. He has also won a number of significant settlements, verdicts and judgments for his individual and business clients.
Nick is a past Director and Chairman of the General Practice and Trial Section of the Georgia Bar having served as Chairman in 2014-2015 as well as a past Director and President of the North Fulton Bar Association having served as President in 2003-2004. He is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Atlanta Bar Association and the Lawyers’ Club of Atlanta.
Nick is married and has two children.
