Having handled many different types of plaintiff and defense cases over the years, Chris’ practice involves pre-litigation counseling, litigation and trial work, and appellate advocacy in employment, business, tort, personal injury, malpractice and civil rights matters. Chris also conducts internal investigations and special counsel work for municipal entities, publicly traded companies, and smaller entities.

A graduate of Atlanta’s Westminster School, Chris obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in 1989 and his J.D. from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1992. Holding Martindale-Hubbell’s AV rating since 2002, Chris has been selected as a “Georgia Super Lawyer” in 2006-2007 (Rising Stars), 2010-2013, and 2017 by Law & Politics and Atlanta Magazine.

Chris began practicing law in 1992 with the Atlanta insurance defense litigation firm Webb, Carlock, Copeland, Semler & Stair. Chris’ work in the areas of personal injury and professional liability continued at James L. Ford, P.C., where Chris also handled employment and civil rights matters. In 1998, Chris opened his own practice, The Law Office of Christopher G. Moorman, where he remained until 2008 when he formed Moorman Pieschel, LLC with his longtime friend and colleague, Nick Pieschel.

Throughout his career, Chris has been involved with the Atlanta Bar Association, The Lawyers’ Club of Atlanta, and Joseph Henry Lumpkin Inn of Court (past Barrister); and he has been a featured speaker at numerous continuing legal education seminars and written many published articles on various litigation topics.

Chris and his wife Debby are actively involved with Atlanta’s Trinity School and Mount Vernon Presbyterian School, where their children attend. A life-long competitive athlete, Chris has completed an Ironman triathlon, the Alcatraz swim, and numerous ultra-endurance events.
